QUEEN OF WHEAT
Zesty & Aromatic
Queen of Wheat is a classic Belgian-style white beer brewed with hints of succulent peach and generous amounts of soft Canadian wheat to create a smooth mouthfeel. The noble hops and wheat yeast give a zesty, citrusy fruitiness with floral and spicy aromatics.
One sip will have beer lovers saying “Yas, Queen!”
Queen of Wheat joins forces with activist and drag performer Rowena Whey and The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD) to offer a portion of the proceeds from sales of each case to support CCGSD’s education efforts.

Spearhead Brewing | Beer Without Boundaries
Founded in 2011 as a contract brewer out of Etobicoke, Spearhead Brewing has evolved into one of the top craft breweries in Ontario. The brewery’s official grand opening in Kingston was in March 2018, and since then the space has expanded to include a fully functioning production facility, retail store, taproom and event venue. The company is home to over 30 employees, and has established a name for itself as a community leader and purveyor of “beer without boundaries.”
Since January 2019, Spearhead Brewing’s online presence has quadrupled — and it’s no wonder, with thirsty imbibers gravitating to the brewery’s tantalizing flavour combinations. Popular picks include the Chardonnay Summer Ale, a light summer sip incorporating chardonnay must — freshly crushed grape juice containing skins, seeds and stems — with Aramis and Strisselspalt hops makes for a one-of-its-kind beer and white wine hybrid ideal for patio lounging. Another fan favourite and the brew that started it all is the Hawaiian Style Pale Ale, originally conceived with some leftover pineapple and a whole lot of inspiration. Bold, hoppy and citrusy, the brew is delicately carbonated, allowing hints of tropical fruit, zest and pine to shine through.
Meet The Team Behind Queen of Wheat
Spearhead Brewing’s swift success might seem like an effortless achievement — but in reality, several years of hard work, sleepless nights and false starts helped to build a strong foundation that has only improved with age.
Meet Tomas and Jacob Schmidt, the head brewers at Spearhead Brewing.
Josh Hayter
President
Josh Hayter is the president of Spearhead Brewing Company, based in Kingston, Ontario. Through the years, he has found that the key to successfully managing your own brewery stems from a genuine passion and thirst for craft beer.
Josh wasn’t always a beer drinker. In fact, he almost entirely avoided beer. That all changed once he discovered the difference between good beer and what he thought beer was. Immediately, he was inspired. He began exploring the craft beer scene and tasting whatever he could get his hands on. He began as a regular commentator on the Canadian Beer Industry as the founder of BeerSnob.ca, and wrote as a columnist for a variety of Canadian publications. To this day, he continues to search for his next favourite brew.
Josh will always selflessly sacrifice himself in the name of R&D. Like most, Josh envisioned owning his own brewery as a glamorous venture. Of course, this has not always been the case. Since moving into his role in 2015, there have been plenty of set-backs, hurdles, and lessons that Josh has come face to face with. Through it all, the craft community is what keeps both beer enthusiasts and purveyors together and moving forward.
Through every challenge, obstacle, learning experience and success, the greatest achievement is waking up each morning and thinking to himself, “Awesome, I get to go to work today!”

Jacob Schmidt
Head Brewer
You could say Jacob was born to be a brewer. He tried to follow a different life path, studying history in university, but sitting behind a desk, reading books was not for him – Spearhead was. Much like his father, master brewer Tomas Schmidt, brewing was undeniably in his blood.
A self-proclaimed “beer freak,” Jacob’s not just looking to try the next great beer, but he’s also brewing the next great beer. Following in his father’s footsteps, Jacob took brewing without constraints to the next level — and it has allowed him to produce some really creative and amazing beers such as the Sam Roberts Band Ale, the Bedrock Lager and, of course, the signature Hawaiian Style Pale Ale.
While he loves beer tasting and experimenting with various flavour profiles and unusual ingredients, Jacob also loves to meet people at bars and events, listening to their tasting notes and taking in the camaraderie that comes with a simple pint of beer. It’s incredible how well people can get to know each other over one little drink, and for that, we have Jacob to thank.
