Not all new beers come from new beginnings. This light summer ale sources Chardonnay must be from an Ontario winery found not far from the home of our brewer’s grandmother. When brewers Tomas and Jacob sought to create a nod to all things French they wanted to be adventurous without venturing too far from home. The Chardonnay Summer Ale, a beer and white wine hybrid, is the refreshing destination to which they arrived.
Juice from Chardonnay was chosen for its connection to France, and was sourced from a well-respected local winery for its connection to Ontario. Jacob’s grandmother lives not far from the winery, and the brewers have been frequent guests. The Chardonnay must was combined with Aramis and Strisselspalt hops, chosen for their citrusy aromas and French origins. The result is a light and fruity yet balanced ale.
