Primary role

The primary role as a brewery laborer will be to fill gaps in any part of the post production process. The main duties will be packaging and general maintenance. Some day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to packaging, cleaning packaging material/kegs, identifying and fixing issues if they arise with the equipment being used, and helping the brewmaster with other tasks in the production stage when needed. It is integral that the candidate can work independently, but he/she must be able to transition from working in production stages to being able to explain the process on tours.

We are looking for an individual who is highly organized with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The candidate must have a positive approach to problem solving, be analytical, and a team player.

 

Requirements

  • Smart serve certification
  • Valid G driver’s license
  • Passion for craft beer
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift 25kg
  • Food handler’s certificate
  • Forklift operating license an asset
  • Brewery/factory experience

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe manner at all times following company health and safety procedures
  • Transport raw materials, finished product, and packaging materials throughout the brewery manually
  • Keg washing and packaging, canning
  • Maintain packaging records to comply with all regulatory reporting and licensing requirements
  • Check products and packaging for basic quality defects
  • Clean work areas and equipment
  • Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices conform to policies and regulations
  • Record keeping of packaged inventory and sales
  • Able to work varied shifts, long hours on occasion, including weekends
