What is considered "local" and "out-of-town" delivery?

We have two delivery zones, local and "out-of-town" or "Ontario-Wide".

Our local delivery zone extends to Kingston, Odessa, Bath, Amherstview, Glenburnie, Elginburg, and Napanee.

All orders outside of that area are considered "out-of-town" and are grouped with Ontario-wide shipping.  

Note that for both local and out-of-town deliveries, proof of I.D is required at the door. 

how long will it take for my order to arrive? (Local delivery)

Local deliveries are dispatched Monday to Friday between the hours of 4-9PM, within 24-30 hours of purchase. Our cut off for day-of delivery is 3PM and orders placed after that time will be dispatched with the following days batch. Any orders placed after 3PM on Fridays will be delivered on the following Monday between the hours of 4-9PM. How long will it take for my order to arrive? (Ontario-wide shipping)

Orders placed outside of our local delivery zone are fulfilled via Canpar or ICS, and take anywhere between 5-7 business days to arrive. Both mail carriers require both a signature and proof of ID at the door. Please note that we do not have direct contact with Canpar or ICS delivery drivers, and therefore cannot relay any specific delivery notes or requests. Should you have questions regarding your out-of-town order or wish to find your Canpar/ICS tracking number, please reach out to Nadia who will assist you.

how will my order be delivered? (Local)

Local beer delivery is dispatched daily by our on-site team! You should expect one of our drivers to arrive at your door between the hours of 4-9PM, Monday-Friday. They will knock on your door or call/text based on delivery notes and requests. When placing your order, please relay important information that may help our delivery team (e.g. buzzer or door number, a phone number is often helpful). Note that for both local and out-of-town deliveries, proof of I.D is required at the door.

How will my order be delivered? (Ontario-Wide Shipping)

Canpar and ICS deliver all shipments outside of our local delivery zone. They require both a signature and proof of ID at the door. Expect your package to be boxed with a Spearhead branded sticker for you to identify it! Note that for both local and out-of-town deliveries, proof of I.D is required at the door. Questions or concerns can be directed to Nadia.

Do i need to sign for my beer?

Our local delivery team does not require a signature, but they do require proof of ID at the door. 

Out of town deliveries are fulfilled via Canpar or ICS, who match ID to the shipping label address and requires proof of age (19+).

Do I need to be home for my beer? 

Yes! Both local and out of town deliveries require proof of identification upon receipt as we are shipping alcoholic beverages. In the event that you are not home to receive your beer, our local delivery team will leave a note to arrange another attempt. Canpar and ICS deal with our out-of-town deliveries. If the Canpar delivery driver is unsuccessful in their attempt at delivery, an attempt notice will be left and the package will be dropped off at the nearest SMARTSpot for pickup by the customer.  It will remain there for up to 5 business days before being shipped back to Spearhead.

I have specific delivery instructions that I would like to be considered. How do I request this?

At checkout, you will find a "Notes" section. Here, you can write specific delivery instructions or requests that our local team will fulfill to the best of their abilities. If you have specific delivery instructions but are not within our local delivery zone, Spearhead is not able to directly communicate with Canpar or ICS delivery drivers and you will need to make direct contact with them for such requests, though they do not guarantee fulfillment of requests.

I received an email stating that my order was “completed”. Does this mean it has been shipped?

You should receive an email stating your order has been "completed" once we mark it as "sent" in our system, meaning it has physically left our building. These orders are marked manually by our team, which means that occasionally, you may receive such an email at a peculiar time. An order marked as "completed" does not mean that you have received your order or that it has been dropped off. It means that it has physically left our facility

I did not receive a confirmation email after I fulfilled my order. How do I know that my order has gone through?

Confirmation emails are automatically deployed to your inbox once you have submitted an order. Often, these emails can get lost in your spam folder, so be sure to check there for confirmation! The email will come from onlineorders@spearheadbeer.com. 

If you do not receive an email at all, please reach out to Amanda, who will investigate. Be sure to provide your full name as submitted with your order so that she can troubleshoot.  

I received an email prompting me to complete my purchase, but I already completed my order. Why am I receiving this notification?

Our system will recognize when you have a semi-filled cart or an unsubmitted order, and an email prompt will automatically deploy to remind you to complete it. Sometimes, if you opened multiple browser tabs or come back to an order page after a certain amount of time, this email prompt will deploy.

You can be sure that your order was in fact submitted by checking your inbox (or spam folder) for a confirmation email. This email should have your order number, which signifies that the order has been successfully placed. If your order was successful, you can disregard the prompt! We just want to ensure that you get your beer. 

I would like to order beer and have it delivered as a gift for a friend. Is this possible? 

Of course! We love friends who share with beer. 

To ensure that delivery is successful, we reccommend that you:

  1. Fill in their address under "delivery" address. Please be sure to provide their full address, as accurately as possible.
  2. Include in the "notes" section of your order that this is a purchase for someone else. If you have a message you would like us to include, please specify there and our team will write out a note! We have blank cards for this purpose. 
  3. Let your friend know that beer is coming! We need them to be home to provide proof of ID, so let them know to expect a delivery and have their identification ready.

I made an error with my order and would like to be refunded. How can I request this?

All refund requests can be submitted to Amanda, or simply directed to "onlineorders@spearheadbeer.com".

I entered my Kingston address but it did not remove the shipping fee. How do I ensure I am not charged for local delivery?

Our shipping fee is automatically removed after you've entered in a valid local address.

Our system is sensitive, so please be sure that your address has been entered in properly and spelled correctly and that your postal code is valid, or it may not register on our end and the fee will not be removed.

What taxes and fees are included in my cart?

A variety of fees and taxes are included in your purchase. Note that these fees and taxes are added at checkout and your total order cost will not be reflected prior to checkout.


Fees include:

  • Ontario can deposit fee ( $.10 per can); refund applicable at The Beer Store
  • Shipping fees ($10 flat rate on all out-of-town orders. This fee is waived on orders over $100 (before tax).
  • Ontario applicable taxes

I accidentally missed the tip option for delivery drivers. Am I able to go back to leave a tip?

Unfortunately, once an order has been submitted there is no way to return to leave a tip. No biggie! The gesture is appreciated, and we ask that instead, you pay it forward! 

I have a coupon code. How do i apply this?

Coupon codes can be entered at checkout. If you have an issue with entering a coupon code, please be sure that you have entered correctly and that it has not expired as some coupons are for single use only. Coupons cannot double up, so be sure to use one.

i saw an advertisement for an in-store promotion. does this apply to online?

Unless clearly specified, online and in-store promotions do not overlap. Our online store and retail shop operate as two separate entities, and as such, promotions do not apply to one another. 

can i purchase a gift card online?

Yes you can!

We now offer online gift cards, available for purchase here, valuing between $25-$100 CAD.

These gift cards can only be used online, and do not transfer to in-store purchases. 


You can purchase an online gift card for a friend! You will be prompted with instructions once you have selected the gift card and entered the desired value amount. That friend will automatically receive the online gift card via email once your purchase has gone through, so be sure to enter their up-to-date contact information. 

i have a phyiscal gift card. can i apply this to my online purchase? 

Physical gift cards do not register with our online system. 

These gift cards can only be used in our retail shop or Taproom, at 675 Development Drive, Kingston ON.

They are not applicable to online purchases. 

i have an online gift card. Can i apply this to an in-store purchase? 

Our online gift cards do not transfer to in-store purchases.

These "e-gift cards" are only applicable online. 

I purchased event tickets online but did not receive a physical ticket. How do I get in at the event?

Once you have purchased a ticket to an event at our brewery, you will automatically be emailed a confirmation. This email will let you know that you do not need a physical ticket as we track ticket holders on our end. 

You can show your confirmation email upon entry at the event, or let our team know your full name (the name of the person who purchased the tickets) as we keep a guest list!

can i have beer delivered anywhere in ontario?

Almost anywhere!

At this time, we are currently unable to send to islands, but all other areas within Ontario can receive delivery. 

Can i have beer delivered outside of ontario?

You can- but not on this site! 

Our e-commerce platform operates under the rules and regulations of provincial law, meaning we cannot ship across Canada through our site. However, we have a partnership with Craft Tapp, and you are able to purchase craft beer from breweries across Canada! If you live out of province and would like to order our product, you can find all of our available brands there.
